    visualization status: in second design iteration

    first iteration included...
      - geobrowser (gary's - 2D, prototyped)
      - simulation environment (gary's - no prototype)
      - existing temporal / spatial histograms

    near term implementation plan:
      - generate still images with feature ideas
      - get informal feedback
      - build some small but working prototypes
      - more formal feedback process (through E&E?)
