In May 1996, two graduate students (Brian Menounos and Kira Abrams) completed their degrees and left CU and the ADL Team. In August, two new students were recruited. A third student was hired on a one-semester position made available by CU funding.
Mike Rock, a Master's student with expertise in GIS and environmental modeling, is currently working on applying spatial interaction models to model use and use error patterns. Andrew Smith, a Master's student with expertise in remote sensing and historical geography, has an interest in Front Range historical mining towns has led to contacts with the Denver Public Library, and a project to georeference their existing catalog of historical photography for addition to the ADL catalog. Prior to his graduate work, he worked for a small company whose business is Web page design. Keith Rokoske, a Master's student with expertise in cartographic design and Internet data delivery, has worked on the interface critique project for the USGS National Atlas interface design prototype.
