Dr. Barbara Buttenfield has relocated from SUNY (Buffalo) to University of Colorado (UCo). In relation this move, UCo has agreed to fund 3 full-time (20 hr/week) graduate assistantships with associated tuition waivers and 10% staff time dedicated to the project for the head of the Earth Sciences Map Library. The total support amounts to approximately $30,000 and replaces the matching support lost from SUNY (Buffalo). In terms of space, a completely renovated laboratory is being provided for the project, comprising nearly 400 sq. ft.. The project will also have access to two adjacent rooms, one of which will be set up for videotaping and subject testing and the other to be used for student offices, computer workspace and staff meetings.
Professor Mark Kumler left the ADL Team at Colorado, to pursue research topics unrelated to the project.
The Project was fortunate to find another faculty level researcher, by Professor Rene Reitsma who is a faculty research associate with the Center for Advanced Decision Support for Water and Environmental Systems (CADSWES), a CU research institute. Rene's interest in Quantitative Methods and Spatial Analysis is coupled by an expertise in Decision-Making and Operations Research. Rene's work involves statistical modeling on use and use error patterns.
