Gazetteer Server Test Forms

Update: The ADL and ESRI Gazetteers are no longer operational.

This page contains three forms that exercise the gazetteer server located at the URL shown below. The URL can be changed dynamically. (Technical note: a gazetteer service is accessed by an HTTP POST request having MIME type text/xml, but browser-generated POST requests are parameterized and encoded and have MIME type application/x-www-form-urlencoded. Thus the forms on this page actually submit their requests to a proxy server that performs the appropriate translation.)

The responses from the gazetteer server can optionally be forwarded to the XSV document validator, which is a useful convenience when debugging a server's output.
